PinLab Terms and Privacy Policy

1. What PinLab is

PinLab is an application for cropping, correcting and preparing artwork for button-badge production. The cloud version lets you log in from any device and work on the same projects. It is a tool for completing a specific task (preparing files for print), not an archiving or permanent photo-storage service.

2. Working copies — please read this

Only upload working copies of your files to PinLab. Do not delete the originals from your device until you've finished the work and downloaded the finished result. Projects and images are automatically deleted after a period of inactivity — you can choose this period yourself (30/60/90 days in the account menu); if you never choose one, we apply 90 days by default. Data can also disappear due to a failure, a bug, loss of account access, or other events that cannot be 100% ruled out.

3. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is", without any warranty of uninterrupted operation or data retention. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the PinLab operator is not liable for:

• loss, damage or unavailability of uploaded files and projects,
• unauthorized access to data resulting from circumstances beyond the operator's reasonable control (e.g. the user losing their password, their email account being compromised),
• service interruptions, bugs, delays,
• the effects of automatic data deletion after the retention period chosen by the user.

Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

4. Prohibited content

You alone are responsible for the content of the files you upload. Storing any illegal content, or content prohibited by applicable law, in PinLab is forbidden. The operator may remove such content and the account associated with it without prior warning.

5. Personal data

Creating an account requires an email address and a password (the password is never stored in plain text). Uploaded images are technically secured against operator access. Data is processed solely for the purpose of providing the service (storing your projects between sessions/devices). The data controller is the person running PinLab — for matters concerning personal data, contact the email address used to register the administrator's account.

We keep a login activity log (moment of login/logout/registration/account closure, no content) — this is a standard audit trail. The log itself does not contain your email directly, only an internal account identifier — however, this identifier remains permanently linked to your account (see below), so the log stays attributable to a specific account and to the terms it accepted, even after the account is closed.

You have the right to view and correct your data. You can close your account yourself at any time (account menu → „Delete account") — this permanently deletes your password, images and projects. The fact and moment of accepting these terms (see point 6) are kept permanently, linked to the activity log — this is our way of demonstrating who accepted the terms and when (including point 4 on prohibited content), even after the account is closed. A closed account cannot be reopened, but the same email address can be registered again as a brand new account — with a new, separate history. Closing an account is irreversible.

6. Acceptance of the terms

By registering an account, you accept the content of this document as it stands at that moment. We record the fact and moment of acceptance with the account — if the terms change later, this record shows which version you actually accepted.

7. Changes to the terms

This document may change as the application evolves. Using PinLab means accepting the current version.

All rights to the PinLab program, its source code, interface, feature layout, graphics, content, name and related materials are reserved, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

The user may use the program only in accordance with its intended purpose and under the terms made available by the author. Without the author's prior written consent, it is forbidden to copy, distribute, resell, publish, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, create derivative works from, or use the program or its elements in other products, services or projects.

If the program contains third-party libraries, components, fonts, icons or other elements, they remain subject to their own licenses. This license does not limit rights that arise directly from the licenses of those components or from mandatory provisions of law.

PinLab is provided in its current state, without warranty of error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or continuous availability. The author is not liable for damages resulting from misuse of the program, data loss, incorrect configuration, or use of the program contrary to its intended purpose.
